  • Member Profile

    Name: Brad Randazzo

Name of Clinic: Dee Why Podiatry

Where do you operate: Dee Why, in the heart of Sydney’s Northern Beaches

  • How long have you been in business?

I’m in my 23rd year of private practice in dee why. I started this practice in partnership with a friend when we were new graduates. I bought her out after about 2 years and we continued to work together for another 3-4 years. I met my wife, nicole at a podiatry symposium 18 years ago and she has worked with me ever since, currently as practice manager.

  • What attracted you to Podiatry?

I started studying engineering at uni straight after school and found that it was very “impersonal”! I was driving taxis part-time to support myself and was enjoying working with a very diverse range of people, so I checked out the health professions and there was a shortage of podiatrists. Over 25 years later I’m still here and loving my profession!

  • What’s driving your passion to be a Podiatry business owner and how will you pass this on, into your business and practice culture?

I’m passionate about being the best podiatrist that I possibly can and provide my patients with the best possible experience in the clinic as well as achieving the best clinical outcomes.

I hope to pass this on through my energy and enthusiasm in displaying my passion for my patients as well as mentoring the other practitioners that I work with.

  • What are the largest business challenges facing you right now?

Firstly, building a team around me with a positive culture who share my passion, drive and enthusiasm to give our patients consistency in their experience and outcomes. We also need to reduce the key person dependancy in the business so that I can have a better work/life balance and spend more quality time with my family as well as following my other passions.

  • What are the 3 worst things you have seen in Podiatry?

    1. I have seen diabetic ulcers that have gone from the plantar surface of the foot and broken through the dorsum, one of which led to a below the knee amputation.
    2. We once had a patient who had a treatment at a nearby clinic and then came to see us to have another treatment- done properly this time!
    3. I am astounded by the number of healthcare professionals who don’t wash their hands!
  • What are the 3 best things you have seen in Podiatry?

    1. Seeing 3+ generations of patients from the same family and developing great practitioner/patient relationships.
    2. Building a busy, thriving practice through word of mouth and referrals. Sometimes several people who know each other meet up in our waiting room!
    3. Having an extended family of patients and sharing our live’s journeys.
  • Other than being a fabulous Podiatrist, what do you do outside of Podiatry?

Nicole and I go to as may sydney swans afl games at the sydney cricket ground as we can! We also have a 23 year old daughter who is pregnant and two teenage sons at home, so time with family is important. We love to go to the movies as well as camping and going to the beach in summer. We love to travel with a family trip to hawaii planned for august. Nicole and I volunteered at an elephant sanctuary in thailand for a week this march which was a very rewarding and humbling experience!
