  • What attracted you to Podiatry?

Combining my interests in science and health, in a way that helps other people.

  • What are the 3 crucial elements to your success?

    1. A clear vision – broken into short, medium and long term goals.
    2. The ability to effectively delegate.
    3. Support from those close to me.
  • What‘s your philosophy on WHY you’re in business?

Freedom to work in a creative way.

  • What has been your biggest OOPS! moment?:

In my first year of practise, I was rolling on a tournicot for nail surgery. My fingers were slippery with betadine, and the tournicot slipped off and shot across the room. The patient thought it was hilarious and said that I’d be no good with condoms!

  • What has been your biggest A-HA! moment?

I could write a page of them, and they’ve all happened since I joined the Podiatry Hive. One that comes to mind is writing my Desire Statement. Imagine reading a two-page description of an amazing life, then realising that the life you’re reading about – is your own. Powerful stuff!

  • Can you you share one or two marketing elements or methods you’ve used in your practice, that have been successful, and have provided growth?

A strong visual presence, in an area high in foot traffic, is an amazingly simple way to generate walk-in business

  • If you had your time over again, what would you do differently?

    Hired slowly, fired quickly.

  • Other than being a fabulous Podiatrist, what do you do outside of Podiatry?

Cooking. I’ve recently been in a couple of small, local competitions that have been lots of fun. I also try a bit of woodwork and joined a local wood-turning group this year.? Wood is such a lovely material to work with, and there’s no patient at the other end!

I enjoy mountain biking, hiking and camping too, but I’ve not done enough of that lately.

  • You are a Podiatry Hive BlackBelt Mastermind Member, can you explain what you have learned from BlackBelt and your 3 biggest achievements / wins since joining BlackBelt:

What I’ve learned: Heaps!…and trying to summarise it won’t do it justice!

    1. Developed a written, workplace culture statement
    2. Produced an e-booklet as a value add for a joint venture partnership
    3. Developed a one-page KPI dashboard that tells me how my business is performing at a glance.
